A Furoshiki to celebrate 40 years of women's right actions.
AWARE is Singapore’s leading women’s rights and gender equality advocacy group. Celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2025, they organized a gorgeous Ball with all their supporters.
For this occasion, they created — in collaboration with the illustrator Yu Xuan (@xuan.jipua) — a design celebrating their successes and actions throughout their history.
We were therefore honored to be contacted to create a Furoshiki printed with this powerful and meaningful design, as a gift for all the guests.
The Furoshiki was elegantly used as part of the table decoration for VIP guests, and a smaller version was distributed as a door gift for the other guests.

A gift that reflects our history while being useful in daily life
As the Furoshiki allows for great freedom in printing designs, it appeared to be the perfect medium. Moreover, while exploring the different ways of using the Furoshiki in their daily lives, recipients can rediscover the different scenes printed on the design and deepen their understanding of AWARE’s history.
"We are regularly looking for meaningful gifts for our supporters that reflect our AWARE history, branding and key messages of gender equality. We also want these gifts to be practical and can integrate into their everyday use."
Moreover, the design was printed in two different versions: a 50 cm square version and a 70 cm water-repellent version. The second version allowed Aware to express even more gratitude to their long-term VIP donors who have extensively supported them.
This water-repellent version extends the usage of the Furoshiki, as it can be used to protect your belongings during a sudden rain shower or to sit on a wet bench.
A huge succes among the participants of the Ball
"People loved it and found it practical. We had a number of people use it as bags, scarves, wraps and wall displays. Others bought more to gift it to their loved ones for the holidays."
We were thrilled to learn that the gift was successful and that recipients immediately tried different ways of using the Furoshiki — not just as decoration, but as an everyday item, just as AWARE had hoped.
We were even happier to learn that some recipients purchased more after receiving it as a present.
