Customer's Voice

Ikeda and Mori from NEMOHAMO
"A Kyoto-Inspired Holiday Delight"

We wanted to create a special novelty for the Christmas season.
Since NEMOHAMO is a cosmetics brand rooted in Kyoto, we were inspired to highlight the essence of Kyoto, Japan, and its quiet elegance—offering a contrast to the bright and festive Christmas celebrations often seen in the U.S. and Europe.
During our research, the idea of furoshiki came to mind.
We discovered that furoshiki are not just wrapping cloths used to carry gifts—they can themselves become gifts. They carry beautiful meanings such as bringing people together, wrapping happiness, and celebration. These concepts felt perfectly aligned with the spirit of Christmas, a time to cherish moments with loved ones. That’s when we decided to move forward with the idea.
What’s more, the sustainable nature of furoshiki—reusable and long-lasting—aligned seamlessly with our commitment to the SDGs at GOOD NATURE STATION. The more we
researched, the more we fell in love with the idea. Around that time, MUSUBI held an event at GOOD NATURE STATION, which naturally led to our collaboration.

Support from Design and Materials to Wrapping Guidance

Our superviser, Mr. Yamada, suggested incorporating the underline motif from the NEMOHAMO logo into the design, and we gladly embraced the idea.

At first, we planned to print large underlines, but Mr, Yamada pointed out that, at that size, only two lines would be visible when wrapped.
He proposed scaling them down so that design would appear more balanced and refined on the finished products. Since we couldn't clearly visualize how it would look once wrapped, we decided to trust his judgement.
He also recommended using a fabric made with 53% recycled polyester, created from textile scraps—a suggestion that aligned perfectly with our sustainability goals and felt very fitting.

Due to a tight schedule, we didn't have time to create a sample. Despite that, the final furoshiki came out beautifully in just one try. The colors were reproduced exactly as we envisioned, thanks to Mr.Yamada's experience and thoughtful adjustments, even though we were initially unsure of the outcome.
Among our team, the furoshiki received great feedback—it felt like a fresh new expression of NEMOHAMO.

We chose the "ODEKAKE bag" wrapping style after seeing how charming it looked in MUSUBI'S in-store display. That said, we found it difficult to wrap neatly ourselves, and although it was a big favor to ask, we requested to Mr. Yamada's help in wrapping all 300 units for us.

In the end, it truly felt like a collaborative creation between NEMOHAMO and MUSUBI.

As a Hotel Amenity Set

NEMOHAMO products are often selected as amenity sets by hotels, and this holiday kit was no exception during the Christmas season.
Even after the holidays, the kit's uniquely Japanese aesthetic continued to attract attention—especially from hotels that welcome many international guests.

We're delighted that this collaboration has let to new and meaningful connections.

I worked closely with NEMOHAMO from the design stage to the final wrapping.
The kit received positive feedback from our team—it felt like a perfect match for NEMOHAMO’s aesthetic and values.

During the holiday season, the NEMOHAMO Holiday Kit stood out beautifully at the stylish GOOD NATURE STATION.
Furoshiki is a fascinating product with deep cultural meaning, yet it's something people rarely encounter in everyday life.
I'm truly glad we had the chance to showcase both its sustainability and cultural significance to a wider audience—crossing borders and reaching new people.

I'm deeply grateful for this meaningful opportunity.
