Kinryuzan Temple, Asakusa / Utagawa Hiroshige
This is one of Hiroshige’s masterpieces which depicts the view at the gate and the huge lantern of the Building in Sensoji. It was the most popular and venerable Buddhist temple in Edo. (Today, it still exists) The auspicious color scheme of red and white creates a celebratory atmosphere.
