Karacho monyo
The 400th anniversary of the origins of the Rimpa style. Karacho holds “Kourin Oonami” and “Kouetsu kagehinata kiri” of typical Rimpa pattern made by reversible dyed Furoshiki. Karakami has a high-quality and elegant appearance and looks excellent as Furoshiki that can be felt by touch.
Karacho
Karacho (Karakamiya Chouemon) established in 1624. It has been passed down only through the Karakami workshops until now. Karakami made by the Hangi, generation after generation are used for sliding screen doors and wallpaper. It has a famous use in historical buildings like sliding screens of Katsura rikyu (an Imperial villa in Kyoot) and the Nijo castle. More than 650 patterns of hangi can be postcards or lamp shades; a new representation for a modern lifestyle.
